This year has been extraordinarily hard on people. A recent study revealed that nearly 2 out of 3 adults are suffering from anxiety or depression because of the pandemic. The rise in cases began as early as June 2020 based on research from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.
Showing acts of kindness is a powerful way to counteract this mental health battle our world is approaching quickly. Several studies have shown that acts of kindness can relieve anxiety and depression. Dr. Waguih William IsHak, a professor of psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai, says “Practicing kindness toward others is one [way of finding happiness] we know works.”
I’d like to take you on a 31-Day Kindness Campaign with me. Every morning, you’ll receive an email that will include a small act of kindness you can do. Some are meant for your colleagues, friends, family, and others are meant for you. (Yes, kindness to yourself is just as important!) Every day was developed with social distancing in mind.
